Rusty colored, neutered, fully vetted including recent dental. He is moderately food motivated (helps with training) just had Vet exam & all is good. In his picture his hair/coat is cut shorter, he has a long Spaniel coat which is quite beautiful. He had a horrible beginning of life until about 2yrs old. He was confiscated from a hoarder who used to burn the dogs with cigarettes. So Rusty has been in our rescue for appr. 6 yrs ! Finally due to our slow kind method of socializing, HE HAS LEARNED TO TRUST AND LOVE. Once he knows you, he will follow you, jump up on leg to be held. He has started to walk in the back door to come into the house on his own. He gets along with other dogs, but we are hoping to find a home where he is the only one and and gets lots of attention. His need is a dog safe home with lots of time and patience. He is not house broken. He has such TREMENDOUS POTENTIAL. He got to love us and is affectionate. We are looking to find a perfect home for him so he can live his remaining years indoors, loved and protected.

As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT APPLY.  NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE. MAKE SURE YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT BEFORE APPLYING.
